It's my former design work for a project in
Foundation Studies. The project's aim was using unconventional materials to create
a unusual pencil holder for 10 pencils. What I chose was hinges since there were
holes on them so that I could fixed pencils in them. I tried to make a dynamic
movement, so I cut the screws in different lengths to support hinges to
maintaining different heights. With the movement of hinges, the movement of
pencils will appear automatically. Unfortunately it broke at last but I really like
it anyway.
Harbin Opera House, designed by MAD, is
located in the north part of China where is usually cold and snowing. The
architecture suits the surroundings so well especially when there is snow on
the ground. The interesting thing about it is that the backstage was covered by
glass, so it make the outside views a part of the stage.
It's a photo I saved from the Internet but I
forget where it was took. The color, the rain, the little house and the nature
beauty of the plants created a very harmonious scene. It always gives me a
feeling of serenity and comfort every time I see it. Maybe it is not very
amazing in the first glance, but the beauty of it attracts me to look it again
and again.
